WePlay Organize a Private Round Flight for Chinese Teams
To ensure that all Chinese teams can participate in WePlay AniMajor, the event’s organizers have booked a private round flight between China and Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. Earlier the participants from China could not leave their country due to problems with return tickets.
PSG.LGD’s coach Zhang "xiao8" Ning was one of the first to reveal that his squad and other teams from China were unable to travel to Kyiv due to a lack of return tickets. WePlay quickly responded, stating that return tickets had been booked in advance, however they were voided due to “recent changes in the European airspace”, likely referring to the incident with the Ryanair’s flight in Belarus. Shortly afterwards the company managed to organize a private flight between China and Ukraine in both directions, stating that the team will depart “very soon”.
WePlay AniMajor begins already next Wednesday, June 2nd. The tournament’s line-up includes four teams from China – Vici Gaming and Invictus Gaming will compete in its Wild Card stage, while PSG.LGD and Team Aster will start from the groups and playoffs respectively. The event will feature a $500,000 prize pool and 2700 DPC points up for grabs. The competition will be played without live audience and conclude on June 13th.
