WePlay AniMajor: List of Participants Has Been Finalized

This weekend the local Dota Pro Circuit leagues have concluded in all regions, finalizing the line-up for the upcoming WePlay AniMajor. Overall the event will feature eighteen teams from six regions.

The tournament will begin with a Wild Card stage, which is scheduled for June 2nd – 3rd. Six teams – Team Nigma, Team Secret, Vici Gaming, Invictus Gaming, Execration, and AS Monaco Gambit – will play in a single group with a round-robin format and best-of-two series. The best two teams will advance to the next stage.

Next is the Group Stage, which will take place on June 4th – 7th. Besides two Wild Card teams, it will feature Team Liquid, PSG.LGD, TNC Predator, Team Spirit, Evil Geniuses and beastcoast. They will also compete in a single group with a round-robin format and bo2 matches, with top two teams advancing to the upper bracket of the playoffs stage and the teams placed 3rd to 6th making it to the lower bracket.

The final Playoffs stage will be played on June 9th – 13th. The leaders of the regional leagues, among which are Alliance, Aster, T1, Virtus.pro, Quincy Crew and NoPing e-sports, already secured their places in this stage. Following a double-elimination format, the stage will feature best-of-three regular matches and best-of-five grand finals.

WePlay! AniMajor is the second major of this season and will be held offline without live audience in Kyiv, Ukraine. While the event features a significant prize pool of $500,000, most teams will primarily compete for 2,700 DPC points that will play a big role in determining participants of this year’s The International.
