Team Empire Reveal New Roster by Ghostik
Team Empire have revealed a completely new roster. The team has been formed by the club’s former member Andrii "Ghostik" Kadyk, who decided to team up with a number of younger players.
27-years-old Ukrainian offlaner Ghostik spent the previous season playing for Unique, with whom managed to place 6th and 4th in ESL One DPC Eastern Europe: Upper Division. Earlier he expressed his desire to form a roster consisting of promising players, citing Team Spirit’s success at The International 10 as his inspiration.
Besides Ghostik, the new roster includes another former Empire member, 22-years-old Ukrainian carry Alexander "lightless" Potapenko. Another somewhat known member of the roster is a 24-years-old semi-support Sergey "[T]SA" Timchenko, who most recently played for B8 Esports. The final two players are mostly unknown Vitaly Mannik Brezgin on middle lane and Oleh Kaori Medvedok on full support.
The team’s new roster will debut in the fifth season of Dota 2 Champions League 2021, which begins today and will continue until November 28th. The event is being held online and features 10 teams competing for a $50,000 prize pool.
Team Empire’s previous roster was disbanded earlier this year following their unsuccessful run in the qualifiers for The International 10 – in its grand finals, they had a 2-1 lead against Team Spirit, but eventually lost with a 2-3 score. Later Team Spirit managed to win TI10.
