Ninjas in Pyjamas Are the Champions of Six Invitational 2021
The grand finals of Six Invitational 2021 featured a Brazilian derby between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team Liquid. NiP managed to win the series with a 3-2 score. The winners claimed $1,000,000 in prize money, while the runner-up received $450,000.
Both finalists advanced to playoffs from the third places in their groups. Later NiP managed to make it all the way through the Upper Bracket, defeating BDS Esports (2-1), FaZe Clan (2-0) and MIBR (2-1). Meanwhile Team Liquid lost their first match to MIBR (0-2) and dropped to the Lower Bracket. There they managed to outplay Parabellum (2-0), Empire (2-0), FaZe (2-1), TSM (2-1), and MIBR (2-0).
Being a team from the upper bracket, NiP had a 1-map advantage in the grand finals. They started the series strong by winning at Kafe Dostoyevsky (7:2), however later lost at Chalet (3:7) and Clubhouse (6:8). The final map was Consulate, where Ninjas in Pyjamas won with a 7:2 score.

Six Invitational 2021 was played on May 11th – 23rd in Paris, France. The tournament’s line-up consisted of 20 teams from all regions. The initial prize pool of $500,000 had been increased to $3,000,000 through the Battle Pass sales.
