MIBR have announced that Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes will not compete at the upcoming IEM Katowice. Although the player has recovered from COVID-19, the team decided to continue playing with 18-years-old member of MIBR Academy Breno "brnz4n" Poletto.

23-years-old chelo, who joined the team last January, recently missed BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022 due to a positive test for COVID-19. To replace him, the organization promoted brnz4n – with him, they managed to upset NAVI in the group and eventually placed 7-9th, failing to qualify for the series’ seasonal finale. With experience in official matches and additional practices in the recent weeks, the team decided against changing their roster ahead of the important event.

IEM XVI – Katowice with a $1,000,000 prize pool is scheduled to start on February 15th. There MIBR and another 15 teams will compete in the Play-In stage, with best eight teams advancing to the event’s Group Stage.
