Zai Takes Indefinite Break from Competitive Dota 2

Former Liquid offlaner Zai has announced his decision to take a hiatus from competitive Dota 2 via social media.

Zai did not specify the duration of his break. There is also no information on whether he plans to return to the pro scene.

As a result, Team Liquid is currently down to four players: miCKe, Nisha, Boxi, and Insania. The club has yet to announce a replacement for Zai.

Zai began his career as a professional gamer in 2011 with Heroes of Newerth before transitioning to Dota 2 in 2013. Over the past decade, he has only taken one break for a year to complete his studies.

During his career, Zai has finished in third place at The International four times (in 2014, 2016, 2021, and 2022), won The Chongqing Major and the MDL Disneyland Paris Major, and secured second place at the Riyadh Masters 2023.

At The International 2023, Zai and his team finished in 5th-6th place.
