Tundra Esports, Team Falcons, and G2.iG Qualify for ESL One Birmingham 2024
Following the conclusion of three regional qualifiers, three more teams have been confirmed for ESL One Birmingham 2024. The qualifiers wrapped up in Western Europe, China, and the MENA region.
Each region was awarded one slot for the tournament, thus the best team from each qualifier was determined in a best-of-5 grand final.
In China, G2.iG emerged victorious after a tough battle against Azure Ray with a score of 3:2. The MENA grand final saw Team Falcons defeating PSG Quest by the same margin. In Western Europe, Tundra Esports won the first two maps of the series, after which OG managed to close the gap but couldn't significantly alter the outcome of the grand final: Tundra Esports clinched the fourth map and sealed the best-of-5 series with a 3:1 victory in their favor.
ESL One Birmingham 2024, boasting a prize pool of $1,000,000, is set to take place in the UK from April 22 to 28. The tournament will feature 12 teams, of which only 11 are currently known. The final slot will be contested between Heroic and BOOM Esports in the South American grand final.
