Team Vitality Crowned Champions of IEM Cologne

On the evening of August 18, the best-of-5 grand final of IEM Cologne 2024 took place. NAVI and Team Vitality faced off for the championship title.

The first map of the series was Nuke, picked by NAVI. The teams were evenly matched, leading to overtime, but Team Vitality emerged victorious with a score of 16-14.

NAVI quickly equalized the series by winning Dust2, their opponent’s pick, 13-10. However, they lost their own map, Mirage, in an intense overtime battle. It took 42 rounds to decide the winner, with Team Vitality coming out on top 22-20, leading the series 2-1.

Team Vitality earned match point and swiftly capitalized on it by securing Inferno 13-9.

The total prize pool for IEM Cologne 2024 was $1,000,000. For their victory, Team Vitality received $400,000, along with invitations to IEM Katowice 2025 and the BLAST Premier World Final.

NAVI earned $180,000 for their second-place finish.
