NAVI Wins PGL Major Copenhagen 2024
On the evening of March 31st, the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 concluded, marking the first major tournament for Counter-Strike 2.
NAVI and FaZe Clan made it to the tournament's final, both teams starting from the Elimination Stage and finishing with a 3-2 record. On their way to the final, NAVI defeated Eternal Fire (2:0) and G2 Esports (2:1), while FaZe Clan overcame Team Spirit (2:1) and Team Vitality (2:1).
The Best-of-3 grand final kicked off with NAVI's victory on the opponent's pick (Ancient, 13:9), but FaZe Clan evened the series on Mirage (13:2, NAVI's pick). The decisive map of the grand final was Inferno, where NAVI proved to be stronger — 13:3.
The MVP of the tournament, according to HLTV, was jL with a rating of 1.22 and an impact score of 1.34 across 18 maps of the tournament. This is the player's first MVP award in his career.
For winning the tournament, NAVI earned not only $500,000 but also direct invitations to the BLAST Premier World Final and the Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh.
This victory marks the club's second major win after the PGL Major Stockholm in CS:GO. Moreover, NAVI became the first club in history to win a Counter-Strike major with two different core lineups.
