Cloud9’s Head Coach Reignover Will not Attend MSI 2021
Cloud9 have confirmed that their head coach Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin will not be present at Mid-Season Invitational 2021 due to “immigration reasons”. He will still be helping the team at the event, however will have to do it remotely.
The team qualified for MSI 2021 by placing first in the Spring Split of the North American league LCS . At the event Cloud9 will compete in Group C, which also hosts DAMWON Gaming (LCK), Infinity Esports (LLA) and DenonatioN FocusMe (LJL).
C9 are not the first to experience issues ahead of MSI 2021. Earlier RIOT Games announced that the VCS team GAM Esports will not attend the event due to travel restrictions. Recently we also reported that PSG Talon’s carry Wong "Unified" Chun Kit will miss the event due to health issues. RNG’s head coach Wong "Tabe" Pak-Kan also won’t be present at the event due to passport issues.
Mid-Season Invitational 2021 is scheduled for May 6th – 23rd and will be played in Reykjavík, Iceland. The event will be split into three stages – Group Stage (May 6th – 11th), Rumble Stage (May 14th – 18th) and Knockout Stage (May 21st – 23rd).
