BLAST Spring Showdown: Astralis and Liquid are First to be Eliminated

BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown has started with quite a few surprises – Astralis and Team Liquid, who were considered to be among the event’s favourites, have lost their first matches and were eliminated from the event.

Despite recent humble results, Astralis are still ranked second in the hltv’s world rating. Yesterday the Danish team faced the updated roster of OG and lost with a 2-0 score. This Friday OG will face G2 Esports, who yesterday outplayed Endpoint (2-0).

The most powerful team of the American region – Liquid – also surprisingly lost their first match to Dignitas, the series ended with a 2-0 score. Like the other defeated teams, they received $3,750 in prize money and no league points.

Today the event will start with the match between Team Spirit and Extra Salt (11:30 AM UK time), the winners of which will face Dignitas this Friday. Later today NASR Esports will face Gambit (2:30 PM), while the day will end with a Brazilian derby between FURIA and MIBR (5:30 PM).
