2021 World Championship Begins Tomorrow

The wait is almost over – 2021 World Championship begins tomorrow, on October 5th, with its’ Play-In stage. It will determine four participants of the main group stage.

The Play-In will be split into two rounds – the first one will be played on October 5th – 7th, featuring ten teams competing in two groups. There they will play with a single round robin format and best-of-one series. The teams have been split into the groups as follows:

• Group A: Hanwha Life Esports, LNG Esports, Infinity, PEACE, RED Canids
• Group B: Beyond Gaming, Cloud9, Unicorns of Love, Galatasaray Esports, DetonatioN FocusMe

While the winners of each group will stance directly to the main event, the teams placed 2nd and 3rd-4th will compete in the Play-In’s second round. It is scheduled for October 8th – 9th, featuring a single-elimination bracket with best-of-five series. There the runner-ups of the groups will start directly in the finals.

This year League of Legends World Championship is held on October 5th – November 6th in Reykjavik, Iceland. There 22 teams will compete for a $2,225,000 prize pool. Two weeks ago RIOT Games drawed the groups of both the Play-In and the Main stages.
